Lune

Privacy Notice

Last updated October 20, 2026

Lune works without an account and without a server of ours. Moon phases are calculated on your phone, and your places and settings stay there. This notice explains what the app does send, to whom, and why. The controller of this data is Adam Pasierski - flapp.studio (NIP 7471938809), reachable at hello@flapp.studio. The waitlist on this website has its own notice.

What stays on your device

Your saved places (a name, coordinates and a time zone), your settings, your reminder choices and a copy of your Lune Pro status so it keeps working offline. If you add your birthday for your birth moon, the date (and birth time, if you give one) is stored only on your phone, and so are the names and birthdays of the people you add to Moon match. The widgets read a small snapshot of moon data that the app writes to shared storage on your phone. None of this is sent to us. It is removed when you delete the app, and you can remove a saved place or a Moon match person, or change your birthday, in the app at any time.

Location

Lune asks for your location only when you tap “Use my location”. It uses one fix while the app is open, rounds it to about a kilometre, works out the time zone on the device and keeps it only on your phone. It never uses your location in the background and never sends it anywhere. If you say no, you can choose a city from the built-in list instead and the rest of the app works the same.

Online city search

The built-in city list works offline. If you tap “Search online”, the text you typed is sent to the Photon geocoder (run by Komoot, using OpenStreetMap data) to find places. Lune doesn’t store it, and Photon’s own privacy policy applies to what it receives.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your phone. Lune asks for permission only when you switch a reminder on, and nothing about your reminders is sent to us.

Purchases

Lune Pro is a one-time purchase handled by the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to check which purchases belong to you. RevenueCat receives your purchase history and an anonymous app user ID, not your name or email. We never see your payment details.

Usage statistics

Lune counts a small, fixed list of anonymous events with PostHog (for example, that the app was opened or a reminder was turned on) to find out what works and what doesn’t. The events use a random ID that belongs to this app only. They never include your location, saved places, birthdays, names or anything you type, and PostHog’s IP-based location lookup (GeoIP) is switched off, so no location is estimated from your connection. The app does not track you across other apps or websites. Lune doesn’t show ads and doesn’t use the advertising ID.

Who receives data

RevenueCat (purchase checks) and PostHog (usage statistics, on its EU servers) process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. The App Store and Google Play handle purchases, and Photon (Komoot) handles online city searches, as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. We don’t sell or share data with anyone else.

RevenueCat is based in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Why we can use it

Purchase data is processed because it’s needed to provide what you bought (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Usage statistics are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it, using only anonymous data (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Reminders and location are used only after you allow them in your phone’s settings, and you can withdraw that at any time there. Using Lune doesn’t require you to give us any personal data, and we don’t make automated decisions about you.

How long we keep it

Everything on your device stays until you remove it or delete the app. Usage events are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat and the stores for as long as they’re needed for your purchase and for legal reasons.

Your rights

Because Lune keeps your data on your device, you can delete it all by deleting the app. For data held by RevenueCat or PostHog, email hello@flapp.studio to see it, correct it, have it deleted or object to its use. Because that data is anonymous we may not be able to find it, but we’ll help where we can. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO).

Age

Lune is for a general audience and isn’t directed at children. It doesn’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and, where needed, tell you in the app.
