Privacy Notice

Ariora is built to collect as little as possible. There's no account, and we never ask for your name, email, location, contacts or photos. This notice explains what the app sends, and why. flapp.studio is responsible for this data.

What stays on your device

Your birth year, lesson progress, XP, streak, saved songs, daily goal, reminder time, the name you type in Settings, and your answers. None of this leaves your device. We use your birth year only on the device, to check you are 13 or over and to decide whether explicit songs can play.

Anonymous usage analytics

We use PostHog (servers in the EU) to understand how the app is used so we can improve lessons. The app sends the screens you open, when the app is opened or closed, installed or updated, and events such as starting or finishing a lesson, whether an answer was right, playing or saving a song, flagging a lesson (from a fixed list of reasons) and paywall or purchase steps.

Each event includes the app version, platform, device model and operating system version, and a random anonymous ID created by the app. We don't send your answers' text, anything you type, your name or contact details, and we don't record your screen or taps.

Purchases

Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have Premium. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID and your purchase history from the store. We never see your payment details.

Song previews

To play a preview, the app sends the song and artist name to Apple's iTunes Search API and streams the clip from Apple. Apple handles these requests under its own privacy policy.

Reminders

Daily reminders are scheduled on your device. There's no push server and no reminder data leaves your device. You can turn them off in Settings at any time.

What we don't do

We don't sell data, we don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't use advertising IDs.

Why we can use it

Analytics are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it, using only anonymous data. Purchase data is needed to provide what you bought.

How long we keep it

Analytics events are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat and the stores for as long as they are needed for your purchase and for legal reasons.

Your choices and rights

Settings → Reset progress deletes your lessons, XP, streak and Hall of Fame on this device and gives the app a new anonymous ID, so later events can't be linked to earlier ones. Deleting the app removes everything it stored, including your settings and birth year.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of data about you, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because the data is anonymous we may not be able to find it, but we'll help where we can: email ariora@flapp.studio.

Children

Ariora isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If the birth year you enter shows you're under 13, the app stops working on this device.

Changes

If we change what the app collects, we'll update this notice and the date above before the change ships.
